Ms. Nyewe obtained her (Social Behavior Studies HIV/AIDS) 2013. Passed Study Units: Advanced social behavior research in HIV/AIDS; Advanced practical research in HIV/AIDS and Research project in HIV/AIDS, Ethics in Social Research at UNISA. In 2001 she obtained her BA Social Work at University of the Western Cape. She also obtained her short Course in Project Management for the Health Sector at the University of Pretoria in 2007. Olwethu is currently busy with her Post Graduate Diploma in Management: Public Sector Monitoring and Evaluation at Wits School of Governance.
Olwethu worked at the National Department of Health in 2014 as the Deputy Director: Monitoring, Evaluation and Research, and also as an Assistant Director: Monitoring, Evaluation and Research, Global Fund Cluster, also worked at MOF Consulting as a part time EAP Therapeutic Counselor, Olwethu worked at Gauteng Department of Social Development as a Senior Social Worker: Advanced Production: HIV/AID Coordinator and also at the Department of Correctional Services- Modderbee Correctional Centre as a Senior Social Worker. She also worked as a Social Worker at Greater Benoni Child Welfare and at Boksburg Child Welfare.

Olwethu is currently working at the HRDC Secretariat as a Deputy Director: Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Research. She is responsible for managing the planning, reporting and implementation of the work of the Council, contribute towards the conceptual design and development of a monitoring and evaluation framework for the HRDC, Coordinate evaluation studies, strategic review sessions and annual reporting of the HRDC, Liaise with Provinces and ensure that Provincial HRD plans are aligned to the National HRD plan, Coordinate Content Committee for the HRDC Summit.
